Specialized Chemical Peels
Our skin is the largest organ in our body – it covers us from head to toe, protecting us from the elements day after day. So it’s not surprising at all that it takes quite the beating. Between sun damage and other exposure to the elements, hyperpigmentation, whiteheads and blackheads, wrinkles, and more, there are many troubles our skin faces. Wouldn’t it be great if there was some way to hit “reset,” and potentially start over with fresh, healthy skin? This is exactly what we do with our chemical peels.*
A new layer of skin develops every four to six weeks, replenishing the old skin. However, it’s often the case that this process lingers, along with skin dullness, lines and imperfections. By using a chemical peel, you can help scrub away the old dead skin, which leaves you with a fresh new layer and an immediate reduction in lines, wrinkles, sun spots, and other blemishes. A chemical peel will often result in skin that feels refreshed and new, and smoother than you ever thought possible.*
Chemical Peel Treatment
When you come in to receive one of our specialized chemical peels, Ottawa Skin Clinic’s highly-trained medical aestheticians will design a treatment that is customized to suit your needs. This means that regardless of your skin type, your skin’s current condition, or your ideal treatment objectives, you will receive a treatment that is tailored specifically for you. Our chemical peels work with AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) such as lactic acid, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, mandelic acids. Essentially, these peels exfoliate the skin by loosening and removed the layer of dead cells on your skin’s surface to help reveal the healthier, smoother skin below. We will evaluate your skin and carefully select the right AHAs and the appropriate strength to target your skin type.*
Every skin type can potentially be refreshed and rejuvenated with our chemical peels. Aging, acneic, sensitive, scarred, pigmented, dull, and dry skin types may all benefit tremendously from a chemical peel. Even thin skin may appear thicker and more hydrated after a carefully applied chemical peel. It is important to note that the level of discomfort associated with treatment is dependent on the extent of the treatment being provided and will vary from one person to the next.*
If you typically spend a lot of time in the sun, it’s essential that you avoid direct sunlight immediately after treatment, and during the skin peeling process. It’s recommended that you use broad-spectrum sunscreen following the treatment, as it helps protect from both UVA and UVB radiation.
If you want fresh, smooth, firm, clear skin, then there’s no better reason to come into the Ottawa Skin Clinic and learn more about our chemical peel treatments.*
