Have you found that regular facials don’t improve your skin’s appearance? It might be time to try an advanced facial options such as microdermabrasion and dermaplaning that offer a deeper level of cleaning. If you’ve never tried one of these treatment methods before, we’ll detail each treatment option and explain the difference between the two. That way you can make an informed decision based on your particular skin type and condition.

Microdermabrasion

Non-invasive and fast – it’s why microdermabrasion is one of the most popular non-surgical treatments on the market. The treatment is designed to remove layers of dead skin cells to rejuvenate the skin, smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, reduce pore size, scarring and hyperpigmentation and brightens the complexion. To clear the skin, it uses tiny crystals or a diamond tip to exfoliate and remove the superficial layer of the skin. Some systems also have a vacuum that loosens the skin cells from the face. The downside is that it can cause redness and, depending on your skin type, microdermabrasion may be too harsh. That’s where dermaplaning might be a better option.

Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning uses a sharp surgical blade to gently remove and scrape off any built-up dead skin cells on the outermost layer of the skin. It’s a quick and easy procedure because it only works at the epidermis level and does not include any peeling agents or chemicals on the skin. It’s also an excellent choice for those who have an excess of hair on the skin, as it will remove the vellus hair known as peach fuzz that can trap oil and dirt causing breakouts. And while it might sound similar to shaving, it provides a much deeper level of exfoliation than shaving could provide.

Both treatments can leave your skin looking smooth and soft. However, they aren’t the only options on the market that you should be considering:

Pixel Skin Resurfacing

Pixel skin resurfacing is one powerful treatment process that can turn back the hands of time and reverse signs of ageing. It delivers similar results to other ablative resurfacing treatments but requires less healing time.  To treat sun damage, blemishes, acne scarring, uneven skin texture, we use laser pulses to create a tiny micro-injury to the exact area. This triggers the body’s natural healing process to stimulate new healthy skin tissue growth. The result is healthier, smoother, more radiant looking skin!

HydraFacial MD®

This multi-functional treatment uses super-serums to hydrate your skin during each stage of the process to protect it from the environment and reverse the signs of ageing. It’s extremely gentle, detoxifying and effective. It can produce instant, noticeable results in only one session. This five-step process involves gently removing dead skin cells with a non-irritating cleanser, followed by a gentle acid peel, then vortex suction to remove loosened debris and tighten pores. Then high concentrations of hydration and antioxidants are applied to nourish the skin. It can safely and effectively recharge and invigorate your skin.

Photofacial

If you suffer from the effects of sun damage, rosacea and hyperpigmentation, the Photofacial can help to target brown spots, cherry angiomas, broken capillaries and wrinkles. By way of a state-of-the-art Advanced Fluorescent Technology (AFL), we can penetrate through the outer layer of the skin to treat multiple skin problems at the same time with a safer, more gentle form of treatment. After one treatment, you’ll notice a reduction in the redness, and you’ll enjoy more youthful, smoother looking skin. The treatment also helps promote the production of collagen, giving your skin more elasticity and suppleness.

Platelet Rich Plasma

This treatment activates your body’s natural healing properties to restore the skin and regenerate soft tissue to give a fuller, healthier look. By using a small amount of your own blood, we extract Platelet Rich Plasma to inject into the treatment area. This activates your own personal growth factors and starts producing collagen to heal your skin.
